About Ellyn

 

Ellyn Vandenberg is a Certified Advanced Rolfer®, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Functional Strength Coach, has a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University, and is a HeartMath™ Certified Practitioner. She is a graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR where she also taught Pathology for 2 years, and The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration in Boulder, CO where she was also an assistant instructor.

Although she never got to study directly with Dr. Ida Rolf, Ellyn has learned from many of Dr. Rolf’s designated teachers and continues the lineage. She has taken numerous courses for over almost 30 years in CranioSacral, Visceral, Nerve, Osteopathic Therapies, ScarWork as well as Trauma Work.

For 15 years, she taught for Advanced-Trainings.com with Til Luchau, CAR™ and was an instructor of Communication & Ethics, Pathology, Anatomy, and Introduction to Myofascia at Sage School of Massage & Esthetics in Bend, OR for 9 years as well as an instructor of Pathology at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland for 2 years.

Ellyn’s skills, knowledge, attention to detail and sense of humor have created a professional environment as a therapist since 1994, and have made her a popular teacher in leading regional massage schools since 1998.

Ellyn's experience in strength training, running, cycling, adventure motorcycling, climbing, swimming, yoga, dance, and music all support her strong emphasis on movement, embodiment, kinesthetic awareness and reeducation. She has worked extensively with clients in chronic pain in her own practice as well as being a Medical Assistant for both an orthopedic and naturopathic physician for many years. She is passionate about educating and being a facilitator for profound change on both physical and emotional levels.
